Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born December 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to score a of 10 in the Olympic contest. Comaneci was first discovered by Bela Karolyi and later became the Romanian gymnastics coach at the time she was six years old. She began competing in the national junior championships of 1969 and finished 13th. She won the competition in 1970. Her first competition in the international arena was in 1972 a pre-Olympic junior event for countries of the communist bloc she was awarded three gold medals as well as in 1973 and 1974 she was the junior all-around champion. She won against Russian Lyudmila Torishcheva, the five-time European Champion in her first senior international competition held in 1975. She was awarded four golds and one silver. She was the winner of the American Cup in New York City in 1976, becoming the first female to do an backward double salto to perform a dismount from the unbalanced parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. The journey into the entertainment business began in her teens when she started performing as a figure skater with her younger twin sister Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show that were known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol began her career in the entertainment business in her teens. She made her debut as a figure skater performing with her younger cousin Nina Wayne as part of the traveling entertainment shows known as Ice Capades. They featured staged ice skating performances.
