Katherine Heigl has opened up about growing up within "a white bubble." She also shares how this experience has affected her parenting of adoptees who are multi-racial. The "Firefly Lane" and "Grey's Anatomy" actor revealed in a recent interview she was told that when it came to the color of her skin, it wasn't a factor for her how she looked like, but after she spoke to her older sister, whom she adopted by South Korea, she realized how differently society viewed the two of the two. "I wanted to know Meg what she thought about being that she was treated differently when going out with our parents and when she went out by herself. She said: 'Oh, sure, I've seen it all!' Heigl admitted to parents, "That made me realise that I was so naive." The singer became angry at the time, and chose to channel her anger into assist her daughters who were adopted by her. Heigl, who has been with Josh Kelley for 13 years, have a son, Joshua Bishop Kelley Jr. Their daughter Nancy Leigh was adopted from South Korea by the couple in 2009. Adalaide is an Black 8-year-old girl adopted in the year 2012.
